I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Online Fraud or Scams, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary's Cyber & Fraud team will be at Watford Central Library from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday 3rd June, offering advice and good practice suggestions to help keep you safer. During 2025 there were 6,757 reports of fraud and 1,664 reports of cybercrime made by residents or businesses located in Hertfordshire with a total financial loss of £44m. A fraud is an act of deception intended to make personal gain or cause loss to another. A cybercrime is a crime committed using communication technology such as computers.
